POIANA BRASOV

It is 1,200m above sea level 12 km from the city of Braşov and it is easily accessible by road. There is a regular bus / taxi service to Brasov and surrounding towns. Poiana Brasov has a temperate-continental climate. The average temperature in summer is 20 degrees C and in winter -4 degrees C. There is a snow cover of about 50-60 cm which lasts from mid-November until mid-end March.

First snow was 20th October 2005. New Gondola cable car system installed November 2005. Ski runs being extended and new runs introduced over the next few years.
Poiana Brasov is a popular summer resort for hikers and families who use the facilities at the many hotels who offer package holidays.
