Q: Where is Romania?
A: Romania is in southeast Europe with a Black Sea Coastline.

Q: Where is Brasov?
A: Brasov is in Transylvania, in the Carpathian Mountains. It has been a historical trading city since medieval times and is near Dracula's castle at Bran.

Q: What sort of Visa requirements are there?
A: Visas are not required for EU citizens who wish to stay for up to six months.

Q: Do I need Travel Insurance?
A: We recommend you have usual travel insurance to take care of you and your family.

Q: Do I need any special Health Care before I travel to Romania?
A: You do not need any special injections or other precautions. There is public and private health care available and paramedics at ski stations.

Q: Where should I change my money?
A: Never change with people approaching you in the streets. Only use Exchange Offices, as there are many in every town and they will take GBP (£). No need to take EURO (€) and pay exchange rate in UK and again in Romania.

Q: How do I get about in the country?
A: Inter-city train service with new high speed trains. Also slightly slower older trains called Rapids; if you catch a Rapid ensure it has a restaurant car and enjoy the home cooked food brought to your table with a bottle of wine. Definitely, a fun way to travel and see the country.

Q: What is the cost of living?
A: As a visitor, a family of four can dine well on £20. Haircut Ladies £4, Men £2, Milk £0.50 per litre, Bread loaf £0.20, Beer (4-pack) £1.50, Wine 75cl £1.50 - £3.00, Taxi fare as low as £0.30. Very low cost outside Bucharest. No tips expected and very efficient service; you can text for a taxi and receive an immediate collection time.
